Antelope Valley Plastic Surgeon Discusses Breast Augmentation with Silicone Implants

According to recent statistics released by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), breast augmentation was the most popular surgical cosmetic enhancement procedure in 2010. Of the 318,123 performed procedures, the ASAPS study shows that 62% of breast augmentations used silicone implants, whereas only 38% used saline. Antelope Valley plastic surgeon Dr. Marc Lussier says he has seen similar results at his practice. Dr. Lussier discusses the increase in popularity of breast augmentation and overall plastic surgery and the likely reasons behind its higher demand.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Marc Lussier says he has seen a noticeable increase in breast augmentation in Antelope Valley, a fact mirrored by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). In its latest survey, ASAPS reported that there were over 318,000 breast augmentation procedures performed in 2010. Total cosmetic surgical procedures were counted at over 1.6 million, a 9% increase since 2009. Dr. Lussier says the rise in plastic surgery procedures performed, particularly breast augmentation, is likely due to the rise in approval of cosmetic enhancement, now at 51% of the American population, according to ASAPS. Dr. Lussier also adds that patients are beginning to take advantage of recent developments in plastic surgery technology as the economy shows signs of recovery. As new innovations, such as breast augmentation surgery techniques and implant options, emerge in the field, he says plastic surgery will only continue to grow in popularity.

Of the 318,123 breast augmentation procedures performed last year, the ASAPS study reports that 62% of patients elected silicone implants rather than saline. Dr. Lussier says many of his patients seeking breast implants in Antelope Valley are opting for silicone because they offer a more natural look and feel than their saline counterparts. Dr. Lussier says the natural feel of silicone implants has also contributed to the overall growth in breast augmentation and other plastic surgery procedures.

However, as these procedures continue to become more popular, Dr. Lussier adds that patients must be sure to research extensively and consult with an experienced surgeon to find the best option for their individual needs. He says regardless of whether patients are seeking breast augmentation or a tummy tuck in Antelope Valley, plastic surgery demands a strict adherence to quality and ethics, backed by the experience of a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Plastic Surgeon in Los Angeles Discusses ASPS Rhinoplasty Stats

According to the most recent study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), there were 252,261 rhinoplasty procedures performed in 2010. As the total number of surgical procedures has increased by 2% since 2009 to over 1.5 million according to the ASPS study, board-certified Los Angeles plastic surgeon Dr. Marc Lussier says rhinoplasty at his practice has seen a significant portion of that growth. He discusses ASPS statistics concerning rhinoplasty and cosmetic surgical enhancements as well as the popularity and complexity of the procedure.

At his Los Angeles plastic surgery practice, Dr. Marc Lussier says rhinoplasty is one of the most commonly sought-after procedures. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) confirms his observations in its latest study, reporting that plastic surgeons performed 252,261 rhinoplasty procedures last year. According to the ASPS statistics, rhinoplasty was the second most popular procedure performed in 2010, behind only breast augmentation. Dr. Lussier says rhinoplasty in Los Angeles has become increasingly popular as surgeons continue to perfect the difficult and complex procedure.

Dr. Lussier says the nose acts as a complex facial component, projecting subtle character and personality in a person’s features by lifting visual focus to their eyes. When a patient is unsatisfied with the appearance of his or her nose due to either trauma or natural evolution, he says rhinoplasty can offer a beneficial solution that leaves minimal to no scarring. Through specific and personalized insight into the problem from both the surgeon and the patient, Dr. Lussier also says rhinoplasty can provide a harmonious complement to a person’s natural facial structure. By altering the nasal structure, he adds that surgeons can restore harmony and balance to a patient’s face.

Because of the intricacy and technical nature of the procedure, Dr. Lussier also says rhinoplasty requires an experienced and qualified surgeon for the best outcome. He adds that consulting with a board-certified plastic surgeon can help ensure the desired results are achieved, ultimately leading to patient satisfaction and paving the way for renewed self confidence. He says one of the most important attributes to look for in a board-certified surgeon is a dedicated and caring staff, focused on the patient’s individual needs.

Umbilical Hernia Patient Review

The first time I called Dr. Lussier I was in tears. I was scheduled to have surgery in two weeks with another doctor but he had just fired me for annoying him with too many questions about why he wouldn’t file my surgery with my insurance company. He said there was no use, they would never cover any of it. Turns out it was my lucky day! My cousin had just had surgery with Dr. Lussier a few months earlier and kept insisting that I was wasting my time until I came and had a consultation with him. I had already consulted with four other surgeons. The thought of having to disrobe and get pictures for yet another one, three hours away from home, who may or may not know what he was doing, who might painfully jab his finger into my umbilical hernia, well it just drained me to even consider. In a panic that my mother’s flight was booked and my husband’s time off work secured, I called Dr. Lussier’s office. The first person I spoke with was Lana and she instantly assured me that everything would work out and that a solution would be found.

Literally the next day I found myself a nervous wreck in his exam room waiting for him to come in and meet me. Just let me tell you that it is IMPOSSIBLE to feel awkward around Dr. Lussier. He is a huge bear of a guy with the presence of a sweet gentle boy. He sat down across from me, eye to eye, and suddenly realized that the solution to my problem was obvious.

After three babies my abdominal muscles had completely separated all the way from my sternum to below my belly button and I had a huge gaping umbilical hernia. Besides the chronic back and hip pain, I was being asked about three times a week if I was expecting again. Also, I had already had a breast reduction twenty two years earlier and my scarred breasts were a mess. So what does he say when I finally open my robe to get his opinion? “Oh wow, so you’re an athlete!” I just couldn’t believe that as bad as I looked and felt he was instantly able to see the real me. When I told him I had tried out for the Olympics as a teen a couple of times and my real goals were to be athletic again, he smacked his hands together in glee and said, “You’re going to be fun!”

He said that in his experience an umbilical hernia like mine was covered by insurance and perhaps the breast scars would be as well, all we could do is try and find out. Every time he spoke I just felt relief, hope and enthusiasm. He took me on a tour of his spotless and state of the art surgical facility that definitely exceeded my expectations. He made my day after my other surgery was scheduled available with so suddenly my plan was still on track!

Believe me when I say, I would travel a lot further than three hours to have surgery with Dr .Lussier. When I returned his call about last minute questions or concerns the night before surgery, his wife was super compassionate until Dr. Lussier came on the phone. The morning of surgery he exuded confidence, focus and introspection while drawing his map on my body. He spent the entire day putting me back together and did not let me out of his direct radar for an entire month. He made all of his numbers available to me and called me or my caretakers two to three times a day for the first two weeks after surgery. He even came to check on me in the middle of the night on the night of my surgery!

Dr. Lussier is confident, competent, a perfectionist, compassionate, highly skilled, funny, caring, supportive, excited about his work, a gentleman, cutting edge, intuitive, honest, gentle, extremely qualified, and most of all HUMBLE. I wish all surgeons had his demeanor. It’s a little unfortunate that you can’t go see Dr. Lussier when you have a cold or other common ailment because he and his staff have the positive qualities our medical system is lacking.

The insurance company ended up paying for a big portion of the surgery and you wouldn’t believe how great I look. Every other surgeon I consulted with said I absolutely needed to get implants and he never suggested it. When I said the last thing I wanted was implants he said, “OK, so don’t get implants!” My breasts look AMAZING. My tummy doesn’t just look flat and beautiful, the muscles actually work and the hernia is completely repaired. My dreams of being an athlete again will surely be my reality when I am all the way healed which is unbelievable considering how destroyed my abdominal wall was.

It had been a wild ride for sure and every single step of the way I have felt cared for by his fabulous staff and confident that I somehow got lucky and had the best surgeon out there fix me. Every time I have been on youtube after the surgery and see a woman describing her situation and showing her results, I am blown away EVERY SINGLE TIME at how much better I look than she does. I’m talking days after, weeks after, months after, mine ALWAYS looks far superior to anyone out there. Thank you Dr. Lussier for your hard work and expertise and I hope you know how much I appreciate your time and loving attention.

Your Next Step to a Youthful Appearance

Many of us approaching “middle age” look in the mirror every day and see the signs of aging that we never thought we would.  Drooping eyelids that make us look tired and older than our years, lines around the mouth that get deeper with each passing month, all of these things point to the need for action.

We are hopeful that we can do things on our own to reverse those telltale signs of aging and so we buy expensive skincare and get mild facial treatments.  These things work for a while but eventually we know we have to take the next step:  plastic surgery.  While you may never have thought you’d be uttering those two words, I am here to tell you that the world of plastic surgery and facial rejuvenation has evolved so much over the last few years.

Today’s plastic surgeons are striving for a more natural look with a goal to target the specific areas of the face that need addressing rather that to perform one large procedure for the entire face.  We know that patients want minimally invasive procedures with less downtime and softer end results, and we are able to give that to our patients with specialized procedures and techniques to address different areas of the facial structure.

Brow lifts, upper eyelid lifts, lower eyelid lifts, temporal lifts, mini facelifts, facial implants, fat transfer, liposuction of the lower face and neck regions are just a few of these procedures that I perform on my facial surgery patients to achieve a youthful, natural appearance.  Our patients are thrilled with their results because we make it easy.
